17th January 2003 - Equitable Members Action Group Appoints Bell Pottinger Public Affairs

The Equitable Members' Action Group (EMAG) has appointed Bell Pottinger Public Affairs to provide advice and support for its campaigning activity. Announcing the decision to work with Bell Pottinger, Paul Braithwaite, General Secretary of EMAG, said:

"I am delighted that Bell Pottinger will be advising us on how we can further develop our campaign to get a fair settlement for policyholders from Government and to ensure that the regulators do not allow such a monumental financial scandal to happen again."

Leading the account will be Bell Pottinger Managing Director, Peter Bingle, and Associate Director Paul Montague-Smith.

Welcoming the appointment of Bell Pottinger Public Affairs, Peter Bingle said:

"EMAG is an exciting win for Bell Pottinger. The Equitable Life debacle is one of the most high-profile regulatory failures in living memory. We look forward to helping the group in its ongoing campaign to gain recognition of, as well as compensation for, that failure."
